Change

Change: adjustment, advance, development, difference, diversity, innovation, modification, reversal, revision, revolution, shift, switch, transformation, transition, variation, turnaround, adjust, alter, diminish, evolve.

Change allows us to move forward in life and experience new things. Being open to change, learning new skills, or working on your inner self can bring about changes you never knew existed. Faith and trust are required.

Different Types of Change include: Happened Change, Reactive Change, Anticipatory Change, Planned Change, Incremental Change, Operational Change, Strategic Change, Directional Change, Fundamental Change, and Total Change. Who would have thought there were so many types of change?

While change is inevitable, the Holy Spirit remains constant. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. While some Christians accept these as a definitive list of attributes, others see them as examples of the Holy Spirit's work.

Either way, He is essential for your journey toward, in, and through change. Trust God. How does the brain adapt to change? This process is called synaptic pruning. Neurons used frequently form stronger connections, while those rarely or never used eventually die. Creating new relationships and pruning weak ones helps the brain adapt to a changing environment. However, when a person's social environment changes, it challenges their sense of stability—or, more specifically, the brain’s. If the brain perceives the change as threatening, it will resist or avoid it as much as possible—often called “fight or flight” mode. We need the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us. Remember, change is unavoidable. It is something that will happen throughout your life.
